幽居於此，偶然得以契合幽居的心境。
籬笆旁叢生的枳樹，天寒猶自碧綠，
屋舍周圍流動的泉水，夜晚潺潺有聲。
飢餓時坐著燒烤許多大栗子，
醉醺醺歸來，懷袖裡揣著新摘的橙。
喜愛閒適本是天生的癖好，
怎敢竊取那區區領取俸祿的虛名？

In seclusion, by chance, I find a recluse's claim.
By the fence, a cluster of trifoliate orange, cold yet green,
Around the cottage, flowing springs murmur through the night, unseen.
Hungry, I sit and roast huge chestnuts o'er the fire's gleam,
Drunk, I return with fresh oranges tucked in my sleeve, a dream.
Love for leisure has always been my inherent flaw,
How dare I seek a petty reputation, by some hollow law?
