我越是年老，就越想找一個安身之處，
回到會稽山，以蕨菜和薇菜爲食，安然躺臥。
難免像庖丁解牛一樣遇到筋骨交錯的關鍵，
又怎能像伯樂相馬那樣洞察精微之處？
靈山曾有高僧拈花微笑，
孔子的故里，如今又有誰在彈奏那稀世的琴瑟？
我也倚著手杖，站在桑樹和竹林之下，
白色的鬍鬚在斜陽中蕭瑟飄動。

The older I grow, the more I long for a place to rest,
To lie by Mount Ji, on ferns and bracken fed.
How can I cleave the ox without meeting the joints' test?
Nor judge a steed's fine points, by skill and vision led.
On Spirit Peak, a sage once smiled, a flower in hand;
In Queli's hall, who now plays the lute, so rare the sound?
I too lean on my staff 'neath mulberry and bamboo stand,
My white beard rustling in the slanting sunlight's bound.
