我披散著頭髮，漫步在荒涼的池塘邊，
秋天的聲響充滿了綠色的蒲草叢中。
磷火飛舞，乘著月色暗淡之時，
貓頭鷹的鳴叫，好似人的呼喊。
學問上沒有什麼新的收穫，
功名辜負了曾經的雄心壯志。
拾取柴火來煮麥飯，
姑且應付著眼前的事務，勉強支撐。

I roam the desolate pond, hair unbound,
Where autumn sounds fill the green rushes around.
Will-o'-the-wisps flit, dimming the moonlight's gleam,
An owl's call echoes, like a human scream.
My learning yields no fresh insight or gain,
My dreams of merit and fame are all in vain.
I gather firewood to cook a meal of wheat,
And cope with daily chores, however incomplete.
