黑色的帽子翩翩飄動，白色的夏布衣衫輕便，
我在摩訶池上嘗試悠閒地漫步。
潺潺的野水在空曠的園林中鳴響，
寂靜的斜陽向廢棄的城池落下。
放鬆韁繩迎著涼風，看著馬兒的影子，
將鞭子藏在袖中尋覓詩句，傾聽著蟬鳴聲。
我這個白頭的小官原本無事可做，
卻為了國家的興亡，生出一腔悲愴之情。

On Maha Pond I stroll in idle delight.
Gurgling wild streams sing through the empty park,
Lonely slanting sun sinks o'er the ruined town dark.
Reining in for cool breeze, I watch my steed's shade,
Sleeve-hidden whip in hand, for lines I listen to cicadas' serenade.
A white-haired petty clerk, with duties none in sight,
Yet for the state's rise and fall, my heart aches with deep plight.
