赤日炎炎，黃塵滾滾，世人忙碌不堪；
放翁我獨自在湖上悠閒地漫步。
竹梢的露水滴落，驚醒了殘存的夢境；
荷葉被風吹翻，送來了清晨的涼意。
借酒來逃避暑熱，終究只是權宜之計；
想靠靜心戰勝酷熱，更是沒有良方。
在空寂的書齋里，我灑脫地臥在榻上，
閒看著衣篝中升起篆字般的裊裊香菸。

Beneath the scorching sun, in yellow dust, men toil and bustle;
Alone on the lake, the Old Man of Leisure wanders at ease.
Dewdrops from bamboo tips startle me from a fading dream;
The wind flips lotus leaves, sending an early coolness.
To escape the heat with wine is but a temporary stay;
To conquer heat with stillness offers no sure method.
In my empty study, I lie carefree upon a couch,
And idly watch the incense rise in curling smoke from the censer.
