西風吹著冷雨，景象淒涼；
路上的行人在白天也迷失了方向。
我姑且撥開濃雲，取來朝陽，
不讓美好的穀物躺在秋天的泥濘中。
年成豐收，郡府里公文戰報也稀少了；
蠻族遁逃，邊塞的亭障停止了戰鼓聲。
寄語農家，切莫遊手好閒、懶惰懈怠，
冬閒時節，正該保養好鋤頭和犁具。

The west wind blows the rain, cold and drear;
On the road, travelers lose their way in broad daylight.
I'd like to push aside the heavy clouds to seize the morning sun,
Not letting the fine grain lie in the autumn mud.
In a year of plenty, the county office sends fewer dispatches;
With barbarians fled, the border posts silence their war drums.
I send word to the farmers: do not be idle or lazy,
For winter's leisure is the time to feed and sharpen your plows.
