七十歲時，我辭別了北方的朝廷，
在西郊寄託於五畝田地。
魚兒在水中遊動，依附著水藻，
仙鶴高飛入雲，在雲端築巢。
化緣的僧人時常來問候我的病情，
占卜的老翁偶爾與我談論交情。
社廟旁的櫟樹啊，上天全然保全了你，
我怎能只是嘆息自己像繫著的葫蘆不得自由？

And settled on five acres in the western wilds.
Fish swim among the waterweeds, free and aligned,
Cranes nest atop the clouds, where heaven's breath exiles.
A begging monk now and then inquires of my health,

Heaven spared you, o sacred oak, its boundless wealth,
Why should I sigh, a gourd tied up, not wild and free?
