時光緩緩流逝，苦苦催人老去。
我也未能免俗，嘆息自己年老體衰；
你難道不懷念故鄉，思念雙親嗎？
家釀的美酒和湖中的蓴菜，如今能與誰共醉？
江上的雲，淮河的月，又經過了一個春天。
新詩寫罷，卻無從寄送給你；
獨自倚靠著高高的欄杆，心中一片悽愴。

The distant post-house road blocks my inquiries' way,
Time, ever fleeting, bitterly hastens my decay.
I cannot shun the common lot—I sigh, old and frail;
Do you not long for home, and think of kin without fail?
Who shares with me the home-brewed wine and lake-shield fine?
Another spring has passed 'neath clouds and moon of Huai and Yangtze line.
My new verse done, I find no means to send it through;
Alone, I lean on the high rail, my heart imbued with rue.
