酷熱的暑氣瀰漫在整個三伏天裡，
直到二更時分才生起一絲微涼。
月光映照的窗前，風中的竹子凌亂搖曳；
煙霧籠罩的沙洲上，沾滿露水的荷花傾斜低垂。
在寂寞中，我借來書籍閱讀以消磨時光，
身體清瘦羸弱，只能拄著柺杖緩緩行走。
白白耗費著官倉的俸祿卻無所作為，
只能深深嘆息，辜負了自己平生的志向。

The sweltering heat lingers through the triple summer spell,
A hint of coolness rises only at the second night bell.
Through moonlit windows, wind-tossed bamboos wildly sway;
O'er misty islets, dew-laden lotus heads give way.
In solitude, I borrow books to read and pass the hours,
So frail, I lean upon my staff to stroll among the flowers.
In vain I drain the public granary's store of grain,
And sigh, my life's ambitions all have been in vain.
