難道我不嚮往榮耀，畏懼朋友的議論嗎？
我一生都戰戰兢兢，如履薄冰。
放任真性情雖被嘲笑爲不拘小節，
但通達節操豈能偏離準則？
我欣喜於暮年能像白居易一樣閒適，
更憐愛孩子們仰慕崔丞那樣的賢德。
即便到了耄耋之年，我仍有泛遊江湖的興致；
人們都說從未見過如此頑強的健朗。

Do I not crave honor and fear the reproach of friends?
My whole life, trembling, I tread on the spring ice.
Though laughed at for being too natural and careless of decorum,
In achieving integrity, how could I stray from the plumb line?
I rejoice that in my declining years I am like Bai Juyi,
And even more cherish that my sons admire Cui the Assistant.
Even in old age, I still have the heart for rivers and lakes;
People say they've never seen such stubborn vigor.
