殘夏的酷熱餘威被阻擋，全賴這一場秋雨將它滌盪。
一場秋雨豈能驟然帶來涼爽？但清涼確是從此開始滋長。
池塘湖沼里的菱角和芡實都已成熟，小鎮市集上新釀的美酒格外香醇。
路上邊走邊唱的多是醉客，歡愉的情緒洋溢在整個街巷鄉里。
我早已預知將迎來豐收之年，絲帛和穀物會像水一樣價廉。
呼喚孩兒備好紙筆，寫下這首詩篇來銘記我心中的喜悅。

The old fire's lingering heat is held at bay, / Washed clean by this one rain that comes today.
Can one rain bring the cool so suddenly? / Yet from this start, the cool shall come to be.
The lakeside's water caltrops now are ripe; / The market's fresh-brewed wine is of best type.
The singing walkers, drunk, are filled with cheer; / Their joy spills out through every lane and here.
I know for sure a bumper year's in sight, / With silk and grain as cheap as water bright.
I call my son to bring the brush and scroll, / To write this poem and record my soul.
