村落蕭條地坐落在古壩的東邊，
蘆葦籬笆，蓬草門扉內躺著衰老的老翁。
井邊的梧桐樹葉在新霜之後落盡，
搗衣的杵聲在夕陽餘暉中頻繁響起。
身體如同敗局已定的棋局難以重振，
內心仿佛生病的樹木已然中空。
村釀的酒酸澀難飲，請您不要見笑，
它也能讓人在燈前飲酒後臉紅。

A reed fence, thatched hut, where an old man lies low.
The wellside wutong sheds all leaves after fresh frost,
The pounding of laundry mallets drones in sunset glow.
My body, like a lost chess game, can't rally again,
My heart, like a sick tree, is hollowed out within.
Don't laugh at the village brew, so sour and so rough,
It too can make one's face flush red beneath the lamp's din.
