白話文翻譯
長壽是福氣的首位，
貧窮是士人的常態。
造物主賦予我貧窮，
卻用長壽來作爲補償。
身處常態而承受福分，
每每擔心自己擔當不起。
捧起山澗水來澆灌焦渴，
碾碎柏實來當作糧食。
雖說難免飢餓，
何至於死在路旁。
還是勝過遼東的丁令威，
化成仙鶴飛回故鄉。

Long life heads the list of blessings, they say,
While poverty is the scholar's common way.
Heaven, endowing me with poverty's plight,
Repays me with longevity as my right.
To dwell in the common and receive such grace,
I often fear I'm not worthy of this place.
I scoop the stream to quench my burning thirst,
And grind cypress nuts to make my meal, the worst.
Though hunger cannot be completely denied,
At least I won't die by the roadside.
It's better than the Liao-ding man of old,
Who turned to a crane, back to his homeland cold.
