白話文翻譯
吳地的農民在沼澤中辛勤耕作，土地溼潤泥濘，
吳地的耕牛耳朵都被泥水浸溼。
農事的功績多麼崇高偉大，
農活常常是這般急切繁忙。
冬季農閒時修築堤防，
壯年男子都如雲般聚集而來。
春耕時節人們都在田野勞作，
農具已經像山一樣堆積起來。
房舍里傳來織布機的聲響，
煙雨朦朧中蓑衣斗笠顯得暗淡。
擡頭就能拾取到一尺長的柴薪，
俯身就能撿起斷裂的草鞋。
上古洪水曾經漫天泛濫，
直到大禹治水，百姓才得以有糧食。
如果不知道食物從何而來，
你的悔恨又將如何來得及？
孩童在最初時都是一樣的，
勤勞或懶惰在於後天的習染。

The Wu farmers toil in the marsh, damp and deep,
The Wu oxen's ears are soaked, in mud they keep.
How lofty are the farmer's tasks, how grand,
How urgent are the labors of the land.
In winter, building dikes, they cease to roam,
All sturdy men in crowds come back to home.
In spring, men work afield, the wilds they tread,
Their farming tools like mountains stand ahead.
From rooms the loom's clack sounds, a steady beat,
In misty rain, straw cloaks and hats look bleak.
For firewood, they look up to take a share,
For broken shoes, they bend to gather there.
Great floods once drowned the world in ancient time,
Till Yu controlled the waters, men had rice to dine.
If you don't know from where your food is grown,
What use is your regret when all is known?
All children start the same, at life's first breath,
Diligence or sloth is learned till death.
