自己都驚訝於這般堅頑，推搡不倒，
時常來到水邊，照看我蒼老的容顏。

Few visitors come, my wooden gate stays closed all day.
Books on shelves delight me in the evening twilight,
Gulls and egrets on the beach keep me company in leisure.
In the wall niche, characters from Wu and Jin dynasties, a thousand years old,
Through the window, I take in the layered peaks of Qin and Ji mountains.
I marvel at my own stubborn resilience, refusing to topple,
Now and then, I come to the water's edge to gaze upon my greying visage.
