熾熱炎炎的烈日對人毫不寬貸。
正歡喜三伏天裡吹起了清涼的風，
已看見雨水壓住了九衢大道上的塵埃。
寒冽的泉水不減中泠泉水的味道，
進貢的茶葉初次品嘗，正是新焙好的。
怎能得到凌空飛翔的一雙健壯羽翼，
徑直追隨猿猴與仙鶴，登上那嶙峋的山峯。

My snail-shell hut, with walls on four sides, barely holds my frame,
The blazing, scorching sun shows no mercy, all the same.
Just when I rejoice in the cool breeze of the dog days' heat,
Already I see rain pressing down the dust on the busy street.
The cold spring water loses not the taste of Zhongling's brew,
The tribute tea, first tasted, is newly baked and true.
How I wish for a pair of strong wings, soaring through the air,
To follow gibbons and cranes straight up the craggy peaks there.
