老農預測下雨的徵兆，
快得就像彎曲伸展手臂。
雜亂的雨點忽然敲打著窗戶，
新的涼意已在衣袖間生出。
連續十天苦於肺燥口渴，
得到這場雨也稍感安慰。
呼喚孩子拿著舊短襖，
去買酒來圖個一醉方休。
姑且煮些園中的蔬菜，
野雞野兔就不必考慮了。

The wind arrives from northeast high.
The old farmer foretells the rain's hour,
Swift as the bending of an arm's power.
Sudden raindrops beat against the pane,
A fresh coolness rises through the sleeve's domain.
For ten long days my parched lungs did ache,
This timely shower some solace does make.
I call my son to fetch an old coat of mine,
To buy some wine and drown in cups of wine.
Let's simply boil the garden greens we find,
For pheasant or hare is not on my mind.
