我高枕無憂，閒看著篆香如古字般嫋嫋升騰；
人世間萬事萬物，本就渺茫難明。
偶然在邊塞丟失馬匹，怎知不是福分？
過分明察深淵中的魚群，恐怕反招災星。
每每與兒輩們談論古今之事；
常常思慮那百世相傳的耕織桑農之業。
真正的危機恰恰在於那黃金鑄造的官印；
回想當初謬誤的激昂壯志，真令人啞然失笑，心生感慨。

At ease, I rest high on my pillow, watching ancient seal-script incense burn;
All affairs of this world are, in essence, vast and indistinct.
To lose a horse at the frontier—was that not fortune in turn?
To peer too keenly into the abyss for fish—an ominous link.
Often with my sons I discuss matters of now and then;
Constantly I ponder the work of farming through a hundred generations.
The true crisis lies in the seal of office, the lure of power for men;
My initial fervor, mistaken and ardent, now draws only laughter and contemplations.
