日月飛逝如同鳥兒掠過。
簡陋的門戶困於風雨侵襲，
衰病纏身實在無可奈何。
稀疏的茅草屋頂處處漏雨，
獵獵作響的窗紙已被吹破。
膽大的老鼠趁著燈光竄出，
人已疲倦，掩上屏風躺臥。
京城舊日的那些親朋故友，
如今零落散失還能有幾人？
提筆想要排遣心中愁緒，
獨自吟詠又有誰來應和？

Sun and moon pass like fleeting birds.
My humble gate is beset by wind and rain,
Sickness and decline are unbearable.
Sparse are the leaks through the thatched roof,

I, weary, close the screen and lie down.
Of old friends from the capital,
How few remain scattered today?
