帽子一旦摘掉,就不能再戴上了;
在幽深的山林中,我孤獨地等待死亡;
巨大的木材已經倒在山谷里,永遠消逝了;
Once a cap is removed, it cannot be worn again;
Once a door is shut, it cannot be opened again.
In the deep woods, I wait for death in solitude;
At the court, the bustling crowd is truly pitiable.
Great timber fallen into the ravine is gone forever;
Even ten thousand oxen could hardly pull it back.
The bronze giants of Epang Palace weighed tons each,
Yet looking back, they've turned to wind and dust.
We, fragile and fleeting, remain unaware,
Yet wish to wear caps and swords, towering ever high.
I urge you not to drink from cups in moderation,
But to lift the Big Dipper's handle with your hand.
Dip it into the East Sea to see Penglai Isle,
Why should you bow your head in dejection?
