幸好我本就是個不了事的癡人，
偷得閒暇，姑且再學學孩童嬉戲。
中午在窗前提筆臨摹唐代字帖，
夜裡在几案上研磨硃砂校勘楚辭。
山已變暖，沒有梅花可折，
江水清澈，還有螃蟹可以持螯。
舊日交遊阻隔，音訊斷絕，
怎能一起歡呼歌唱，共飲一杯酒呢？

Fortunate am I, an incurable fool with no pressing affairs,
Stealing leisure, I mimic once more the play of children.
At noon by the window, I wield my brush, copying Tang calligraphy,
At night by the low table, I grind vermilion, collating verses of Chu.
The hills are warm, yet no plum blossoms remain to be plucked,
The river is clear, still there are crabs worthy to be held.
Old friends are separated, news and traces cut off,
How I wish we could sing and shout, sharing a cup of wine together.
