環繞州城的山巒像翠綠的波濤傾瀉而下，
可爲何公文事務每日都排滿了日程？
我揮退差役，不讓他們來攪擾我，
獨自登上樓台去觀看雲霞生成。
煎茶熟透的香氣飄入我的鼻觀，
眉間露出喜色，因錘鍊的詩句終於完成。
莫要嘲笑我這衰翁淡泊的生活，
將來或許還能與玄英先生（方干）的品格相配。

Yet why must official documents dictate my daily course?
I dismiss the clerks, so they won't disturb my peace,
Alone I climb the tower to watch the clouds being born.
The aroma of brewing tea floats to my nostrils,

Don't laugh at this old man's plain and simple life,
In years to come, it may yet match the purity of Xuanying.
