浩蕩的唐堯虞舜時代已經遠去很久，
孔子的墓地歷經千年也成了荒蕪的山丘。
六經雖然殘缺不全，但幸好還能考證，
諸子百家紛紜縱橫，又有誰再去擔憂？
佛家典籍恐怕不能與《論語》相提並論，
王者事業的蹤跡或許就在《詩經》和《春秋》。
君臣父子的綱常倫理從未泯滅，
我們的道統依然傳承，只需您去探求。

Vast, the days of Tang and Yu have passed away;
For a thousand years, Confucius' grove lies in decay.
Though the Six Classics are fragmentary, we can still trace,
When a hundred schools contend, who again feels dismay?
Buddhist texts, I fear, are not like the Analects' grace,
The kingly way perhaps lies in the Odes and Spring and Autumn's case.
The bonds of prince and subject, father and son, never erased,
Our Way still lives—if you, my lord, but seek its embrace.
