五月里，我哀嘆久不下雨；
炎熱的風吹起乾旱的塵土。
氣息虛弱，幾乎喘不過氣；
汗水流淌，浸溼了衣巾。
呼喚婢女準備沐浴，
她回覆說還未買來柴薪。
你做事雖然不夠勤勉，
也是因爲你主人我貧窮所致。
從井中汲水，捧起寒涼的泉水，
足以讓我忘卻自己的嗔怒。
就好像寄居在旅店一樣，
凡事都聽從主人的安排。

In the fifth month, I grieve for the lack of rain;
The scorching wind blows the dust of drought.
My breath is weak, I can barely gasp;
Sweat streams down, soaking my clothes.
I call the maid to prepare a bath,
She replies that firewood is not yet bought.
Though your service is not diligent,
It's also due to your master's poverty.
I draw water from the well and scoop the cold spring,
It's enough to forget my own anger.
As if lodging in an inn,
