蓴菜的細絲與茭白的嫩莖,在江南一帶享有盛名。
鮮嫩的菜心供奉給皇家廚房,
其美味勝過熊掌與駝峯。
老農親手開墾出幽靜的菜園,
土壤肥沃如脂膏,清水甘醇如乳汁。
供養全家就依賴這園中的出產,不必向外索取,
披著蓑衣戴著斗笠,怎會推辭在煙雨中奔走勞作。
雞肉和豬肉不能常吃,
更何況妄想宮廷御用的羊肉。
在地爐邊用小火慢煮,菜香四溢,
舌頭還未享用,鼻子已先品嘗到了香氣。
Green cabbage and leek, ancient fine fare,
Water shield, wild rice shoots, famed in the south,
The tender yellow hearts served to the court,
Surpass the bear's paw and camel's hump in worth.
The old farmer himself tills a secluded plot,
Where soil is rich as fat and water pure as milk.
To feed his family, he relies on this, not seeking elsewhere,
In straw cloak and hat, undaunted by misty rain he goes.
Chicken and pork are not for daily feast,
Let alone dreaming of the palace's lamb.
By the hearth, a pot of vegetables simmers fragrantly,
The tongue awaits, but the nose has already savored it.
