人生百年紛擾，頭髮輕易變白，
這鼎盛的一年又到了清秋時節。
壯志徒然，如同老馬伏在馬槽；
病弱之軀豈敢懷有狐死首丘的鄉思。
與屠夫釣客結交，在酒中寄託隱逸；
高臥山林之間，得以暢遊天地。
不要悲嘆晚年功名耽誤，
即便死去，也還配得上『醉侯』的贈號。

Another momentous year has brought the clear autumn again.
My stout heart is vain, like an old steed stalled in its shed;
My sickly bones dare not yearn for the fox's burial mound.
Making friends among butchers and anglers, I find solace in wine;
Lying high in the woods and hills, I roam free with nature.
Grieve not that fame and merit in late years went astray;
Even in death, I'd still be worthy of the title 'Drunken Marquis'.
