疾病在我壯年時侵襲，我曾擔心頭髮來不及變白。
偶然依賴針灸的功效，寄居人世成了長久的過客。
年紀已將近七十歲，白髮如霜雪般紛亂地蓋滿了頭巾。
耳朵和眼睛雖然已經衰退，但還沒有與世人隔絕。
在千頃湖水中洗滌帽纓，在這五畝宅院裡度過晚年。
用粗布縫製長衫，又漫步在東邊和南邊的小路上。

Sickness assailed me in my prime, I feared my hair would not have time to turn white.
By chance, aided by the needle's art, I linger in this world, a long-term guest.
My years now approach the seventieth mark, frost and snow thickly cover my turban.
Though my eyes and ears have already declined, I am not yet cut off from others.
I rinse my hat-strings in the thousand-acre lake, and prepare for old age in my five-acre home.
In coarse cloth I stitch a long gown, and roam again the eastern and southern paths.
