北風猛烈，胡騎揚起的塵埃遮蔽了九州；
我推起頭巾，長嘯一聲，登上了高樓。
不由得想起故鄉，那新生的梧桐樹苗應該還在吧；
我擔任這卑微的官職，說到底只是爲了能留在有荔枝的地方。
在江南湖海以南的地區，戰事仍在持續；
犬戎之患若不根除，國家的災禍就難以停息。
仿佛聽說推舉將帥的都是勇猛的飛將軍；
爲何不能有像謝安、傅玄那樣清談治國的風流人物呢？

The wind is fierce, the dust of northern horsemen darkens the Nine Provinces;
With my cap pushed back, I let out a long whistle as I ascend the tower.
My old garden comes to mind—I recall the young paulownia trees still there;
This petty official post, truly, is held only for the sake of the lychees.
South of the lakes and seas, the strife of war still rages on;
If the Dog Rong barbarians are not destroyed, calamity will never cease.
I seem to hear that the chariots are pushed by flying generals;
Why not have pure conversation, like the flow of Xie An and Fu Liang?
