北山先生是當代文章的宗師，
孔子與周公的思想情致幸好沒有泯滅。
弟子們雖然心力交瘁，但向學之心仍在，
先生年齒雖高，其意趣卻越發新穎。
如今已沒有運斤成風那般精妙的手藝，
古時卻有程門立雪那樣誠心求教的人。
如果不向師門勤奮叩首求學，
一生的抱負又能向誰傾訴伸張呢？

Beishan is the patriarch of contemporary prose,
The thoughts of Confucius and Zhou's spirit are not yet lost.
Though his disciples are weary, their hearts remain steadfast,
The master, though aged, his intent grows ever fresh.
Now there's no hand that carves a nose with a gust of wind,
But ancients had those who stood in snow, buried to the waist.
If one does not bow diligently at the master's gate,
To whom in this life can one unfold one's innermost thoughts?
