牆角有一棵惡木，
盤踞在我千畝的園中。
它遮蔽了日月的光輝，
阻隔了雨露的恩澤。
它的下面連野草都無法生長，
更何況是蘭草與香蓀。
蒼青的藤蔓如龍蛇般交纏，
簇擁護衛著它，何其雄壯尊威。
廚人來稟告柴薪已盡，
我命人持斧急速將其枝葉剪除。
但這終究不是長遠的打算，
應當連根拔起，徹底清除。

A vile tree stands at the corner of the wall,
Occupying my garden of a thousand acres.
It blocks the sun and moon's light,
And stifles the grace of rain and dew.
Beneath it, no grass can grow,
Let alone orchids or fragrant herbs.
Dark vines intertwine like dragons and snakes,
Clustering around it in mighty, revered guard.
The cook reports the firewood is spent,
I order the axe to swiftly shear it bare.
This is no long-term solution after all,
The time has come to tear it out by the root.
