時光與景物不會等待人，
流逝的歲月迅疾如飛箭。
辛酸源於從前詔書的不公與冷落，
通過科舉的年輕後輩如今衆多。
命運坎坷，窮困如同作祟的鬼怪，
憂愁太多，睡眠也成了折磨人的魔障。
大概要到蓋棺之時一切才能定論，
姑且拿起酒杯，放聲高歌吧。

The fleeting years shoot past like arrows.
Bitter hardship came with the former decree's slight,
Later scholars in the imperial exams abound.
Fate is adverse, poverty plays its evil part,
With many sorrows, sleep becomes a tormenting fiend.
Only when the coffin lid is closed will matters settle,
While there is wine, let us sing aloud and high.
