堂前有一層地面好似台階，
沒有石頭也沒有磚塊，只是舊時的地基。
用泥塗抹修飾，只因年節將近，
被踏壞崩塌，全是因爲客人行走之時。
有誰曾穿著羅襪雙雙踏上這裡？
多謝青苔長久不曾離去。
從此這裡便成了一處貧寒的景致，
竹簾垂掛的地方，最是相宜。

Before the hall, a level like a terrace lies,
With neither stone nor brick, just the old base remains.
The mud plaster, for the near year's end, dries,
Trampled down only when the traveler's foot complains.
Who ever came with silken socks, a pair, up here?
Thanks to the moss, long clinging, never to depart.
Henceforth, it turns into a scene of poverty clear,
Where the bamboo curtain hangs, most fitting to the heart.
