你期望快速顯達，恥於趨附時勢，
行為如同徒然涉水，慚愧於沾溼雙足。
鴻雁高飛，凌越深遠的秋空，
南來之時，也有謀取稻粱的打算。
我默默無言，全心眷戀江湖的樂趣，
不肯相隨，去追求那腐鼠般的東西。

Ashamed to toil in vain, with white hair, guarding the gate.
You, eager for quick success, scorn to curry favor with the times,
Your actions, merely wading through, shame the muddied foot.
The wild goose soars high into the boundless autumn sky,
Yet flying south, it too must seek its sustenance.
Silently, I cherish the joy of rivers and lakes,
Unwilling to follow the quest for a rotten rat.
