一根椽子便在此幽靜的山中建起了我的居所，
蘆葦蕭蕭作響，環繞在屋頭四周。
鄉野的老者屢次前來詢問我的姓名與家世，
社中的鄉人相互約定舉行春秋祭祀。
從此寒山遠去，再無飛燕的蹤影，
白水初傳消息，已有遠方的鷗鳥到來。
病癒後偶然獨自前往，
寒煙與斜照的光景使人愁緒滿懷。

A single rafter marks my dwelling in these secluded hills,
Reeds rustle bleakly, encircling the roof of my abode.
The village elder comes often to inquire my name and lineage,
The community folk agree to hold seasonal sacrifices together.
From these cold mountains, no swallows will fly henceforth,
By the white waters, news first comes of distant gulls.
Rising from illness, by chance I wander out alone,
The cold mist and slanting sunlight fill one with sorrow.
