漫長的夏日雖然令人厭煩，
但今晨的景物卻自有其遭遇。
鳴蟬急切地抱著樹枝，
新生的燕子飛出高高的巢穴。
穿著葛布衣裳，哪裡會嫌它單薄，
驅趕蚊蟲，也需不辭辛勞。
時不時下一場雨，
蒸騰的溼氣讓地上都生了黴毛。

Though weary of the long summer's heat,
This morning's gifts the world does greet.
Cicadas cling to branches, shrill and fast,
Young swallows leave their nests, soaring past.
In thin hemp robes, I do not feel the chill,
To drive off mosquitoes requires will.
From time to time, a shower falls anew,
The steaming dampness makes the ground mildew.
