這孤獨的樹根從何而來？原是遠從滄海之濱移栽。
遷移使它失去了生機，砍削修剪又耗費了人力。
枝幹蜷曲像蛇蚓盤結，如同沮喪的丈夫失去了剛直。
僅存的美貌支撐著孤翠，枯乾的紋理滲上些許溼氣。
只供作盆中玩賞之物，竟被隔絕了參天的本色。
怎能招來狂風驚雷，一夜之間將它拔高千尺。

Twisted like a snake or earthworm, knotted tight; / A dispirited man, robbed of his upright might.
A remnant of beauty props up its lonesome green; / Withered veins drink in a tiny drop, unseen.
Merely a potted plant for a table's delight, / It's barred from joining the sky's majestic height.
If only I could summon the wind and thunder's might, / To tear it up a thousand feet in a single night!
