切莫讓間諜洩露了真實的軍情。
漢朝因有防備，吳國最終退卻；
秦國由於無人，楚國才起而爭奪。
卦象從爻位中分出損益吉凶，
棋局在棋盤上決定輸贏勝負。
不知道那鎮守三邊的都督啊，
可還肯向江湖隱士詢問一聲意見？

In war, the prize goes to the swift who strike before the foe.
Let no spy leak the truth, lest our designs lose their glow.
Han held its ground, and Wu at last was forced to turn and flee;
Qin, lacking men, saw Chu rise up to fight for mastery.
As hexagram lines show the gain or loss the future brings,
So on the chessboard's squares are set the triumphs of the kings.
I wonder if the marshal guarding frontiers far and wide
Would deign to ask the rivers and lakes what they have to confide.
