天工開鑿的函谷關雄踞關中，氣勢壯闊，
萬古以來驚擾人心的戰塵在此消散一空。
望氣之人竟能預知老子將過關西去，
爲何守關者不識丟棄符信的終軍是少年英雄？
空自持有白馬非馬的詭辯之論，
也比不上雞鳴狗盜之徒解困的實際功勞。
天命所歸的疆土已穩固如掌心之地，
當年那一粒丸泥曾誤導隗囂東向稱王的野心。

Heaven cleft Hangu Pass, a fortress grand in central plain,
Through endless ages, dust of war has vanished here in vain.
By scanning aura, one could foresee the sage Laozi's flight;
Why fail to know the lad who tore his pass, a future bright?
In vain he held the sophist's talk on white horse, void and trite;
It matched not the cock-crowing guest's feat in the dead of night.
The mandate now rests in a palm-sized land, secure and tight;
A single pill misled the king to east, a sorry plight.
