The mat of woven peach-bark feels suddenly cool.
The rushing gale now musters all its might,
The splendid sunbeams hide, their brilliance veiled.
I pity the turtledove wife leaving her nest,
I watch the ant king sealing his mound's gate.
The dim lamp can be my companion here,
The yellowed scrolls allow the night to grow.
