太學生何蕃長久沒有回家，
十年間，耽誤了奉養父母，使他們未能品嘗到甘美的食物。
不要推辭說客居的道路有三千之遙，
應當想到人生七十古來稀。
腰間雖然沒有像蘇秦那樣佩戴相印，
但箱子裡幸好還有老萊子娛親的彩衣。
歸家的日期約定在春節前後，
以免讓高堂上的父母因思念而嘆息衰微。

At the Imperial College, He Fan has long not returned home,
For ten years, the taste of home-cooked meals has been missed by his parents.
Do not speak of the three thousand li of the traveler's road being too far,
But remember that a human life seldom reaches seventy years.
Though at his waist there is no seal of office like Su Qin's,
In his chest, he is fortunate to have the clothes of old Lai, a filial son.
The date of return is set for around the coming of spring,
So as to spare his parents from lamenting his decline.
