我信馬由韁，來到隋朝舊城之下，
趁著春日光景，探訪往昔的傳聞舊話。
昔日的樓臺殿閣如今在何處？
只見瓦礫遍地，大半已成了耕田。
遠處傳來的樂聲，悲笳嗚咽，
殘存的花朵墜落，如圓圓的靨飾。
只留下這荒淫奢侈的遺蹟，
作為千古史冊上的一面明鏡。

In spring I seek the tales of its renown.
Where are the towers and terraces of yore?
Now broken tiles and plowed fields cover the floor.
A distant flute, a mournful horn, a sob in the air,
The last few petals fall, like rouge, round and fair.
Only the traces of its lavish waste remain,
A warning for the annals, through ages, to explain.
