今年完全沒有創作關於梅花的詩篇，
也沒有到花邊隨意地品評題詠。
儘管霜雪無情地摧殘剝落殆盡，
它們仍然需要陽光的照耀與眷顧。
靜靜看著寒冷的花蕊無人領會，
獨自繞著孤寂的根莖只有自己知曉。
還有幽居的鳥兒懂得鳴唱起舞，
爲我酬答對飲，幾乎度過了很長一段時間。

This year I've written no verse on the plum at all,
Nor ventured by the blooms to judge them, great or small.
Though frost and snow have battered them without relent,
They still need the warm sun's benevolent descent.
In silence I watch cold buds none else understands;
Around lone roots I stroll, known only to these hands.
Yet there are hidden birds that sing and dance for me,
As if to toast in turn, for a long, lingering spree.
