亭下的流水已非當年蜿蜒的曲水，
山前的翠竹卻似舊日那般修長。
兩三位遊人因為懷古之情而來，
延續著八百多年來的風雅勝事。
我試著與山靈談論往昔的故事，
不知它是否還肯點頭表示贊同？

In old age, I scarcely care for spring outings any more;
I come instead to face Orchid Pavilion's radiant autumn.
The stream below the pavilion is not the winding one of old;
The bamboo before the hill resembles its former slender grace.
A few visitors, stirred by thoughts of antiquity,
Continue a legacy of elegance spanning eight hundred years.
I try to discuss past events with the mountain spirit—
I wonder if it will still consent to nod its head?
