我握住縈繞在菊花籬笆旁的秋雲；
這野逸的情懷並未感到自己正漸漸老去。
古往今來懷才不遇的難道只有我嗎？
在這風雨交加時來訪，不必問是誰。
在郭索（螃蟹）爬來之前，空有酒在手；
自陶潛之後，已經很久沒有詩了。
何須去計較明年是否身體康健，
就這樣悠然自得，自成一番奇趣。

I clutch the autumn clouds that wreathe the fence of chrysanthemums;
My rustic heart feels not the weight of age that slowly comes.
Through all the ages, is it I alone who meet with no acclaim?
In wind and rain we meet—ask not from whom this visit came.
Before the crab's crawl, in vain I hold this cup of wine;
Since Tao Qian left, for long no poetry has been mine.
Why should I care if next year finds me hale and sound?
Just like this, serene and free, a wonder I have found.
