紛紛擾擾的恩寵與屈辱，何時才能停歇？
早晨還平步青雲，傍晚卻已淪爲階下囚。
寧可做一位寄宿在亭子下的將軍，
也受不了廷尉遙望山頭的處境。
浮雲過眼，難以把握與控制；
對於世事，我冥然無心，任憑其去留。
既不會被黑色染汙，也不會被磨薄，
至今，孔子與孟子的教誨仍是首要的準則。

How long will the tumult of favor and disgrace ever cease?
At dawn one ascends the azure clouds, by dusk becomes a prisoner.
Better to be a general lodging beneath a wayside pavilion,
Than endure the imperial judge gazing toward the mountain's peak.
Floating clouds pass before the eyes, hard to grasp or control;
Worldly affairs, with a darkened heart, I let come and go as they will.
Neither stained by black dye nor worn thin by grinding,
To this day, the legacy of Confucius and Mencius remains.
