山石嶙峋如鱗，刀耕火種艱難，
山下的流泉卻適宜種植水稻。
一壟新秧綠茸茸的，
茅草花在秋天之前如雪般在風中搖曳。
君王嘉許的良種不易成熟，
野草爲何要搶奪一年的收成功勞？

Peak cliffs stand tall, a mighty work of Heaven's hand,
Like a belt winding round a stone wall, myriad folds high.
The mountain's bones, scaly and cracked, make slash-and-burn hard,
Yet the spring below the hills is just right for rice to grow.
A stripe of new shoots, tender green and lush,
Cogon flowers sway like autumn snow in the wind ahead of time.
The sovereign's fine seeds are not easy to ripen,
Why do wild grasses steal the year's labor and toil?
