冥鴻沒有伴侶，白鶴孤獨地飛翔；
回首那塵世的牢籠，我報以嬉笑一場。
八十四道盤山路，拄著新的手杖，
萬三千乘兵馬，是舊日的牙旗飄揚。
石階青碧滑溜，在雲氣生成之後；
樹葉紅斑點點，正值雪後初晴的時候。
告訴同行的夥伴們切莫惆悵，
人間的捷徑反而變得崎嶇險障。

Looking back at the dusty cage, I laugh in delight.
Eighty-four bends, a new walking staff in hand,
Ten thousand, three thousand chariots, the old command flag once grand.
Stone steps, jade-smooth, after clouds arise;
Red-speckled leaves on trees when the snow clears the skies.
Tell my fellow travelers: do not grieve or pine,
For shortcuts in this world turn treacherous and malign.
