爭如打魚人,心契太古前。
萬事絕無想,生計歸小船。
晴逐白鷗去,夜傍黃蘆眠。
青莎紉短衣,備在風雨先。
得魚不上岸,博酒不博錢。
相牽醉妻兒,短笛吹空煙。
桃源共楚澤,枉為時所憐。

怎比得上打魚之人,
心神與太古之前的純樸相契合。
心中對萬事萬物毫無雜念,
生計全然寄託於那一葉小船。
晴天追隨著白鷗而去,
夜晚便依傍著黃蘆入睡。
用青莎草縫製短衣,
在風雨來臨之前就已備好。
捕到魚也不急著上岸,
換酒喝而不去換錢。
牽著醉酒的妻兒,
吹起短笛,笛聲融入空濛的雲煙。
桃花源與楚地的沼澤,
徒然被世人所憐惜稱道。
行路之人苦於信步跋涉,
背負重擔,肩膀都被壓得通紅。
夕陽沉下西山,
水天雲影渺茫無邊。
我想要追隨漁郎去遨遊,
放聲高歌,樂享自然的天趣。
Confucian scholars are trapped in texts and phrases,
Their aspirations yearn to be sages and worthies.
Buddhist monks in black robes discuss emptiness,
Seeking enlightenment in Western Zen's stillness.
Daoist immortals preach the elixir of gold,
Learning to stride the skies, never to grow old.
What is the heart of these three paths, in truth?
They merely transmit the wish for prolonged youth.
How can they compare to the fisherman's way,
Whose heart connects to the ancient, primal day?
Ten thousand matters—not a single thought remains;
His livelihood returns to his little boat's domains.
By day he follows white gulls, drifting free,
By night he sleeps by yellow reeds, carelessly.
Green rushes sewn into a short coat he wears,
Prepared for wind and rain before it dares.
Catching fish, he doesn't rush to shore,
Barters for wine, not for coins to store.
Hand in hand, drunk with wife and child so dear,
A short flute plays into the empty atmosphere.
Peach Blossom Spring and Chu's marsh, lands of grace,
Are vainly pitied by this hurried race.
Travelers suffer, trusting their weary feet,
Bearing heavy loads with shoulders burning, beat.
The setting sun descends behind western hills,
Water and clouds stretch vast, as distance fills.
I long to follow him and roam at will,
Singing loud, rejoicing in heaven's thrill.
