那美人（指荷）立於秋江之上，
以託身塵埃爲恥。
她含笑傾倒了行雨的國度（巫山神女），
香氣喚回了夢蘭的幽魂（鄭穆公母夢蘭生子）。
蝴蝶沒有媒人（卻自來），
鴛鴦已見子孫（成雙成對）。
（我）四處窺看，思念著那雙槳（以便乘舟接近），
（她卻）深鎖（於水），令人憶起重門深院。
（我）生性怯懦，畏懼風波，
慚愧（只能）留下月露般的痕跡（指詩篇）。
枉費以金蓮試步（模仿潘妃），
千古以來怨恨著那昏聵的東昏侯。

Timid by nature, I fear the wind and wave,
