我常常醉倒在馬鞍上沉眠。
當風塵瀰漫、世事紛亂動盪之時，
酒杯之中，卻保全了我完整的一片天。
機敏通達之人固然自認爲美好，
但像劉伶、阮籍這樣放浪形骸卻被視爲無用。
試看那些勸人進取功名的表章，
哪裡比得上這篇歌頌酒德的《酒德頌》？

A deer-drawn cart, a tiny cosmos in its hold,
Upon the saddle, often drunk, I sleep and dream.
When wind and dust in chaos swirl, the world grows old,
Within the cup, I find a heaven, whole and supreme.
The clever and successful may think themselves fine,
But libertines like us are deemed of no avail.
Just look at those memorials urging the throne's line—
How can they match the ode extolling wine's regale?
